Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does GraceWell work?

+ -

With GraceWell, you join a faith-based healthcare sharing community for seniors 65 and older. First, your Medicare Part A and Part B benefits apply to eligible medical bills. After Medicare processes the claim, the remaining eligible portion is submitted to GraceWell’s sharing pool. Once your annual responsibility (your initial contribution toward eligible bills) is met, the community begins sharing in the remainder of those bills

Is GraceWell insurance?

+ -

No. GraceWell is not an insurance policy and is not regulated as insurance. It is a voluntary healthcare sharing ministry among members who share one another’s eligible medical needs.

Must I be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B?

+ -

Yes. Enrollment in both Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B is required in order for GraceWell to process eligible medical bills and sharing to apply.

When am I eligible to join GraceWell?

+ -

You become eligible on the first day of the month in which you turn 65, provided you are enrolled in Medicare Parts A & B. If your birthday falls on the first of the month, your eligibility would begin on the first day of the prior month (again assuming Parts A & B are already active).

Can I be withdrawn from GraceWell for medical reasons?

+ -

No. Membership in GraceWell cannot be terminated simply because of a change in your health status, provided you remain enrolled in the required Medicare parts and abide by our membership guidelines

What is my annual responsibility?

+ -

Your “annual responsibility” is the amount you must pay toward eligible medical bills during a 12-month period before the sharing community kicks in. This includes Medicare co-insurance, deductibles, copays and any remaining balances after Medicare has processed the claim. Once your annual responsibility is satisfied, eligible bills are shared by the community

Can I use telehealth or receive discounts for prescriptions, hearing, or dental?

+ -

Yes. GraceWell members are eligible for telehealth services and have access to discount programs for additional wellness, hearing, dental, and prescription needs (subject to the terms of the program). These services are supplemental—they do not replace Medicare’s prescription drug coverage (Part D) or other existing benefits.

Is GraceWell considered creditable coverage under Medicare?

+ -

No. Because GraceWell is a voluntary healthcare sharing ministry and not insurance, it does not satisfy the “creditable coverage” requirements for Medicare. If required under other programs (e.g., employer coverage or certain state programs), you should verify separately whether your membership meets those other obligations.
